MAD SANTA

The unlikely band of heroes that Madeline Bishop finds herself a part of takes to calling her “Mad.” A rather fitting nickname.

An excerpt from the chapter “A Sømber Affair” in segment #2 

“They all stand silently around the casket. Looking at her reflection in the polished black wood, she is presented with a reality she cannot yet accept, something her mind cannot comprehend. Madeline is faced with the first thing in her life that she cannot will to be different than it is. She has lived a life where what she wants she gets. And up until now, if something wasn’t right, with the dial of a phone, the penning of a letter, or a few choice words to her father, the wealthiest man in town, she could have it fixed and, she could have it her way. For the first time in her privileged, all-American life, she is faced with circumstances beyond her control. Her dear friend is gone, and there is nothing she can do about it.”

Though NØRTH PØRT 1999 is set in the run-up to Halloween, the winter holidays will play a major role in the story going forward…
